Alumni are warmly invited to attend the Jane Martin Poetry Prize Ceremony on Thursday 27 February 2025. We are delighted to invite Girton alumni to celebrate the winning poets of this year’s competition.

The event will be held in the Stanley Library from 5.45pm to 7pm, with guests welcome to arrive from 5.30pm. There is an Alumni Formal Hall after the event that you are welcome to attend as well.

The Jane Martin Poetry Prize is a national poetry competition, established in 2010, in memory of Girton alumna, Jane Elizabeth Martin (1978, Classics) through the generous support of her family.

Now in its 15th year, this national prize for young poets is a key part of the College’s support for poetry. The competition is judged by experts drawn from across the literary world and academia. In 2025, the panel of judges will be led by judges, Caoilinn Hughes and Kirsten Norrie.

If you have any queries or would like to attend the Alumni Formal Hall later in the evening, please email alumni@girton.cam.ac.uk.
