Stanley Library
A room that everyone falls in love with, the Stanley Library is one of our most popular meeting rooms.
A very special room, the traditional and historic features of the Stanley Library make every event held here unique.
Given to the College by Lady Stanley in 1884 and originally the College library, this room still evokes memories of that time, with the period bookshelves stocked with many original volumes. Between them, 12 ornate stained-glass windows look out onto the College’s beautiful grounds.
The Stanley Library is truly a room for all events, in particular wedding ceremonies for up to 60 people, formal dinners for up to 50, and smaller conferences and board meetings. It works well in conjunction with the Old Hall across the corridor, and offers easy access to outside space for summer picnics, drinks on the lawn and other open-air activities. There’s even a piano – contact us for special permission to use it during your event.
