volunteer scheme flow chart, see instructions below for more details

Please read through these carefully. By registering, you are agreeing and legally bound.

Terms and conditions: Volunteering outside of the College

Girton College acts only as a facilitator of introductions of volunteers to organisations for the purposes of finding volunteering opportunities. The undertaking of any volunteering will be agreed between the volunteer and the organisation by separate agreement which Girton College will not be a party to.

If any issues arise between the volunteer and the organisation during the volunteer engagement both volunteers and organisations may have legal rights of redress directly against the other party and not against Girton College.

Girton College does not guarantee the identities of the organisations and/or volunteers, or the accuracy of any information provided by the organisations and/or volunteers on its website.  Volunteers and organisations should therefore take appropriate steps to ensure that they are comfortable dealing with the party they are being introduced to and to ensure that any information provided by them is accurate and complete.

Girton College will have no liability in respect of any dealings between a volunteer and/or an organisation. Girton College does not exclude or limit in any way our liability to a volunteer or organisation where it would be unlawful to do so.

Any queries or concerns about volunteering engagements should be addressed to the relevant volunteer or organisation. If you have any queries or concerns about the introduction process, please contact studentvolunteer@girton.cam.ac.uk.

Browse the available volunteering options and choose the activities or projects you’re interested in.

If you would like to nominate or recommend a charity or organisation not on the list, please email studentvolunteer@girton.cam.ac.uk. Please make sure to receive confirmation before completing the registration form.

Complete the Wufoo form to register your interest.

Please note that by registering you are agreeing and legally bound set out in the Terms and Conditions.

After approval, begin your volunteering work. At regular intervals, you will be asked to report your hours.

Please make sure you attend any additional training provided by the College and/or the charity or organisation.

Recognising all our volunteers

All students who volunteer and report their hours through this scheme will be invited to a reception with the Mistress towards the end of Lent term.

Each volunteer will receive a certificate recognising their contributions, including the total hours volunteered. This certificate can be added to CVs as proof of service and community engagement.
