Research Themes

I specialise in Hellenistic Judaism, with a focus on Jewish-Greek literature, including the Septuagint. I am particularly interested in questions related to language use, multilingualism, and cultural identity in Second Temple Judaism.

Responsibilities

My teaching focuses primarily on the languages, literature, culture and history related to the late Second Temple Period. This includes Greek and Hebrew, as well as various Old Testament papers in the Divinity Faculty. As a classicist, I also supervise the Prelim Latin paper in Classics, and I teach Latin and papers introducing different approaches to linguistics in the Foundation Year.
