How to make a Bas-Bleu Cocktail/Mocktail (Blue Stocking)
The Bas-Bleu cocktail, invented by Secretary to Council, Dr Caroline Shenton, might well be thought of a ‘Girton in a Glass’. Here Dr. Shenton shows you how to make it and explains why it is so special. There is a mocktail version too!

Academic Dress
Graduations at Cambridge University require all those attending in a formal capacity to wear appropriate academical dress. At the July 2021 ceremonies, Girton mostly presented graduands for the Degree of Bachelor of Arts with their distinctive white-fur-lined black hoods. We also presented Doctors of Philosophy, as well as Masters of Philosophy, Laws, Engineering, Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Bachelors of Arts, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, and more, each identifiable by the colour and markings of their hood.
