Girtonians and their guests are warmly invited to a reception and lecture at the Millenium Centre in Cardiff on Wednesday 6 November.
The evening will start at 7pm with reception drinks and canapés, and a welcome from the Mistress, Dr Elisabeth Kendall, who will introduce our guest speaker for the evening, Professor Elwen Evans KC (1976, Law), Vice-Chancellor of the University of Wales and the University of Wales Trinity Saint David. Professor Evans will talk about her career and inspirations.
During the evening, we will also hear poetry from Dr Gwyneth Lewis MBE (1978, English), the inaugural National Poet of Wales, who wrote the bilingual text that appears on the façade of the Millennium Centre. Gwyneth will be introduced by Dr Carol Bell FSA FSLSW (1977, Natural Sciences). Carol is Director of the Football Association of Wales and Chair of Heneb – the Trust for Welsh Archaeology.
